Privacy Policy
Zortilla is a product analytics service. This policy explains what we collect when you visit this website or use Zortilla, how the event data our customers send us is handled, and the choices you have.
Two kinds of data
Account and website data is information about you as a visitor or customer: the details you enter when you sign up or contact sales, and basic technical data from visiting this site. For this data, we decide how it is used.
Customer event data is information our customers send to Zortilla about how people use their apps and websites, such as screens viewed or buttons tapped. For this data, the customer decides what is collected and why, and we process it only on their instructions.
What we collect from you
- Sign-up details: name, work email, company, role, product type, approximate monthly active users and your main goal.
- Sales enquiries: name, work email, company, product details, current analytics tool and your message.
- Workspace usage: the reports you create, questions you ask Ask Zortilla and settings you change, so the product works and we can support you.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and a session cookie used for the form captcha.
How customer event data is handled
Zortilla is designed to track product events, not personal content. By default:
- Form inputs, and values that look like email addresses, phone numbers or card numbers, are masked on the device before they are sent.
- Messages, documents and typed text are not recorded.
- Customers choose which screens and events are tracked and can turn autocapture off per screen.
- Customers can delete any end user's data through the dashboard or the deletion API.
If you are a user of an app or website that uses Zortilla and want your data removed, please contact that company. They control the data and can delete it with one request.
AI features
Ask Zortilla, Churn Predictor and Experiment Coach work on the data inside a customer's own workspace. Their answers and predictions show the data behind them and are labeled as estimates.
Customer data is never used to train AI models for other customers.
How we use your information
- To create your workspace and send your login details.
- To reply to sales enquiries and provide support.
- To run, secure and improve the service, including preventing spam and abuse.
- To send product and billing notices. You can opt out of non-essential emails at any time.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run Zortilla, each bound by a written agreement to protect the data they handle:

We do not sell personal data.
Retention
Customer event data is kept for the history period of the customer's plan (12 months on Free, 5 years on Growth, custom on Scale) or until the customer deletes it. Account data is kept while the account is active and for a limited period afterwards to meet legal and accounting duties.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access inside Zortilla is limited to people who need it to run the service, and Scale customers can review audit logs of workspace access.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the personal data we hold about you, or object to how it is used. Send your request through the contact form and choose "Security and data privacy review" as the topic.
Cookies
This website uses one essential session cookie to check the form captcha. We do not use advertising cookies on this website.
Changes to this policy
If we make a material change, we will notify customers by email or in the product before it takes effect.
